Experience with Associations?

Ran into an association that has 1000s of businesses as members which they help support. Anyway my approach was hey I have a service (voluntary benefits) that would help out your members that you could recommend. They basically proposed that I give them profit sharing, donations, sponsor events, etc because other agents are. I would think it would be okay because it's already being done but at the same time it seems like they are asking for a bribe and I don't want to get involved with anything iffy. If they had a license and I split them commissions for referrals that seems legal. Anybody had an experience with this?

It's "The Health Insurance Shop."

This is their motto:

Welcome to "The Health Insurance Shop." Your one-stop resource for health care in the US. You'll waste more time here than you ever imagined. You'll learn very little and you
won't make any friends. It's the perfect Association!

We support "Walk Across America For Groats Disease" and the repeal of Obamacare!

dont you love it when an agent comes to a insurance agents board and solicits......SMH

Most large associations expect a significant override. There is nothing wrong with it if you follow all of the rules. They often want you to set up a separate entity that is jointly owned by you and the association.
