Extra Help Lis and also Medicaid SEPs

What SEP does a CSNP open up beyond the 1st quarter?
The only SEP that CSNP has that the other SNPs don't have is the initial SEP offered when first qualifying for a CSNP. And it can only be used once.

I really do see how the call centers can abuse this one because it's one of the most restrictive SNPs there is.

Thank you. For a moment I thought I was having cognitive disorders.

hockeyday is correct. I worked for 3 of the big 5 carriers. CSNPs can be enrolled year round. You could write one today and it would be effective Jan 1. The carrier has 60 days to verify with their doctor that they have the diagnosis. If they cannot or do not confirm they have the diagnosis within the first 60 days, it opens up another SEP to enroll in any MA plan. This is what the call centers will be doing and probably the reason for so many carriers offering CSNPs this year.

Your post is correct except for one part. The year round part.

What makes a CSNP different from all the other SNPs is the qualification part. They have a one time qualification and once used, it's gone. Similar to a T65 IEP. And after that, only regular SEPs and EPs apply.

Also, they are assigned a PCP and a specific care plan than is strictly monitored. Abuse it and you lose it.

I suppose that the call centers can try to abuse a CSNP but that won't last very long. The results will be what CMS did to the AOR thieves over on the ACA side.

But a bigger question in all of this is why worry about what the call centers are doing. I don't.

I simply insulate my clients from the call centers when I sell them. The same goes with all the crap they get in the mail.

Not true. I've moved many csnps 2-3 times in a yr . I can't tell you how many times someone rolled my csnp and I rolled them right back using the csnp sep . Just like mov, loss of Medicaid , state pharmaceutical sep carriers never check. It might be stated in the rules but csnps can move monthly
