Farmers Auto Insurance

FYI - I have not read a worse contract for auto insurance from a standard carrier. Are you aware that Farmers comprehensive coverage is not "comprehensive"? It is a named peril policy for comprehensive. Most policies are true comp policies, collision and all other than collision. If you have Farmers you had better make sure that you are aware of its limitations. Why would you spend more and get less coverage with Farmers? Just a thought.

You should read more policies.
For instance, have you read Geico's? I think you will find the same thing. I don't have a copy of Geicos policy handy, but their website says that it covers theft, vandalism, flood, fire or other covered perils.

This might be a state by state thing as well. For instance, in California, it is rarely called 'other than collision'.

What started you reading auto policies? Just curious. Usually this is caused by a claim denial somewhere. I know that is when I go back and re-read a policy. There are a lot of little things you don't catch the first 20 times you read the language, until you have a situation to apply it to.

I left Farmers after they had switched their home and auto contracts and went independent and read all of the independent contracts. They are all very well written in my preferred market.

KMAN you need to take a chill pill with your Farmers bashing... Simply starting a thread bashing a company isn't helping anyone.

Todd- It was an FYI. How about responding to the auto contract change? It's meant for Farmers agents to read your contracts and your competitors! Know what your selling. Product knowledge is greatly lacking with newbies in the industry. Your customers rely on you implicitly. Farmers wants great marketing and selling agents, not much time is allotted for becoming a trusted insurance advisor. Your entrusted insuring your customer's assets. Todd, I for one take great pride in advising clients, not just saving them money.

I love Farmers Clients. I beat their prices on any policy they write. The second I hear the client is currently with Farmers, I guarantee I will lower their premiums (with higher coverages), or $50 dollars. Their products (and premiums) are not very competative here in Southern California.

I, too, like Farmers clients. Here in East Texas it is easy to beat their prices. I have a Farmers office right next to me. It has made for easy pickin' :)

All auto insurance policies involve a premium, which is the payment a customer makes to have auto insurance. Premiums for auto insurance can be extremely divergent and are determined by a number of factors.

I like farmers auto insurance as they make us avail students discount on insurance prices, actually they have the best prices for premium rates of insurance. Well this company does provide the comprehensive coverage along with the collision coverage in addition to liability insurance.

Body Injury Liability covers you in case you cause an injury or accident to other people and for which you are held responsible. Personal Injury Protection covers in case of injuries to the policy holder. Collision Coverage covers damages when your car is hit or your car hits some other vehicle. Liability for Property Damage covers property damages to third parties. Basically there are two different types of insurance coverage like full coverage and limited coverage. Limited coverage provides only minimum cover.
