Farmers Auto Insurance

I like farmers auto insurance as they make us avail students discount on insurance prices, actually they have the best prices for premium rates of insurance. Well this company does provide the comprehensive coverage along with the collision coverage in addition to liability insurance.

Body Injury Liability covers you in case you cause an injury or accident to other people and for which you are held responsible. Personal Injury Protection covers in case of injuries to the policy holder. Collision Coverage covers damages when your car is hit or your car hits some other vehicle. Liability for Property Damage covers property damages to third parties. Basically there are two different types of insurance coverage like full coverage and limited coverage. Limited coverage provides only minimum cover.

So, have you run into an issue where the Farmers policy hasnt covered a comprehensive claim?

I am a Farmers agent and have yet to come across something that hasnt been covered by comprehensive, so it would be really helpful to know what isnt...

My clients have been paid out on vandalism, theft, burglary, items on the fwy.. I mean, any comp claim Ive had - has gone through, if Im missing something then I need to know before I find out the hard way! =X

i had one last year where a rodent had chew some of the wires in the car. it was cover under the old Farmers policy but not Mid-Century and there is no rider for it either.

Surfy and Jsm, don't take this the wrong way but you 2 really need to READ your auto and home policies. I am amazed at how much misinformation is delivered from insurance agents on an insurance forum. What makes you think that rodent damage to your CAR would be covered by your HOME policy? First of all, no coverage because your home policy doesn't cover licensed vehicles (all companies policy forms) and 2nd if you have read a Farmers crappy Next Gen home policy, it is not an HO 3, it is a HO 2. The difference is that only perils named in the contract are covered for dwelling and contents, and "rodent damage" is not a covered peril in an HO 2. 3rdly, Farmers specifically removed any animal damage coverage, think absolute animal exclusion, like Farmers absolute mold exclusion. Surfy, sorry no coverage for damage made by your pets either. Read and know your policy forms!!!! Especially Farmers because both auto and home contracts offer some of the least amount of peril coverage in the industry. Farmers auto comprehensive coverage is less than "comprehensive" as it is a named peril comp. Terrible coverage IMO.

To be fair, I recently learned that Farmers new FA2 policy (I think that's what they call it) in some states IS named peril and in some states it has remained an "open peril" comprehensive policy. What I don't know is which states, besides California, have a named peril comprehensive auto contract?
