Are there any FE companies out there that offer a good % and do not insist that I buy their mailers for my "territory"?
I'm just looking for a company that I can have in my belt for FE.

Thanks!
John

Royal Neighbors, Americo and Monumental are good companies. If you're interested in getting contracted or learning more about them, give me a call or PM me.

You are confusing insurance companies with insurance agencies.

Most companies will contract you direct and there is no such thing as a territory.

You can usually get higher commissions going throug an IMO, but that's not always the case. I think almost anyone can contract with Oxford for about 120%.

Lots of good companies out there and you should be able to contract for between 105% and 120%, maybe higher if you can show good numbers. I would look at RNA, Monumental, ACI, GPM, Settlers, Foresters, and Oxford. Its the FMO that you need to be a little more careful about. If you just want a good contract without the mailers/leads, I would recommend talking with Todd.

You should start out by ordering direct mailers of at least 1000 per week. Keep that up until you get the hopper filled then you could cut back to 1000 every two weeks or so. Those leads will cost you anywhere between 275 and 450 per 1000, depending on where you are getting them. With some companies like Monumental or Madison National, you can get them at 275/1000 through the company discount. As for collecting your first month premium, that is totally up to the company. Some require the first months premium but most do not require this. I personally don't collect it to avoid and extra friction; however, many guys claim that it helps with retention if you get that first month check up front. It's really up to you. If you don't get a payment, just make sure you get a void check or a form that will replace a void check provided by the insurance company.

Why? While I have received an occasional lead from different sources, I have never ordered direct mailer and have managed to make a living for a few days in this business.

I'm already doing Medicare mailings in my area so I don't need to purchase more leads. I'll cross-sell at my existing appointments.

The MLM side of this business is really a turn-off.
The GM, GA, FMO, GTO, HMO, PPO, LLC, AAA and lest we forget the OPP, all claim to not make money off of the lead mailers are all full of crap. If they're not payed directly for agents under them purchasing those mailers, they receive a HUGE discount from the mailing company....IMO

Rousemark does it without buying leads

But don't get me wrong.. I am not making the big bucks these days because I do not work in the field selling insurance but a couple of days per month. However, there was a time I made a decent living and I wasn't buying leads then either. The only real problem I had was that I was spending the money as fast (sometimes faster) as it came in and didn't hang onto any of it! :1frown:
