Fed and State 2010 Plan Info. 7/1/2010

No comp for agents to help people get in the risk pools as far as I can tell. Sent them a Twitter message with that request...plenty of clients I could help get something that were declined and uninsured, but nobody likes working for free. Also nowhere to e-mail or call with questions....are you eligible if you had a mini-med before? Nothing definitive...

Found this little nugget:

But the federal plan has limits, Maryland officials said: a $100,000 annual limit on pharmacy claims and a $2 million maximum limit on all medical claims over the course of the program. They said they do not expect enrollees to reach the limit, but those who do will be dropped from the plan.

So if you have a pre-existing condition, you will no longer have to worry about being dropped from insurance....unless it's too expensive, of course. I guess all those people taking the $10-25k/month drugs are still totally screwed.

"This tool will help you find the health insurance best suited to your needs, whether it's private insurance for individuals, families, and small businesses, or public programs that may work for you. It was created to help consumers under the health insurance reform law, the Affordable Care Act."

This "tool" takes you DIRECT to the carrier websites. No broker involvement. And this is not the high risk pool either.

Where have you been Chumps? That's old news. The Goberment and the carriers are your friends. It's a dream marriage. The Goberment gets power and control and the carriers get free leads via the Goberment without that pesky agent.

I wouldn't worry too much about the exchange unless you get your leads online. I think we'll always be able to find the leads (probably easier than now), the question is what will we get paid and will it be worth our time?
