Is RL Polk USDATA good lists source for this type of mailer.

Can each lead be bought between .03 and .05 cents each

Depends on what you mean by good. If you're looking for lists that are accurate I generally hear complaints about USData, but if folks were happy with them they probably also wouldn't be giving me a call.

Can they scrub against the National Change of Address Registry? I sold a guy a list for Medicare supplement mailers this week and we did a NCOA scrub so that it would take out any bad addresses or moves and it didn't take out much, but at the cost of stamps, bad inaccurate can start getting expensive.

We are currently working with a well known lead vendor, under a corporate discount for our national agent team. Agents utilize these lists for mailings, and outbound calls. Products include final expense, medicare supplement, as well as mortgage term life. In some areas, leads are pulled based on language, as well as these other filters depending on the product focus. Since you are in the lead business, do you think you can offer a better solution than other vendors, in terms of quality and/or price?

I appreciate the interest. The short answer is yes. If you'd like to get on the phone sometime this week to discuss details I'd be happy to go over it with you that way to get into specifics. The lists I resell are aggregated from over 300 sources and typically run 95%+ accurate. With respect to the filters, I have access to the same consumer filters most list brokers have and the only exception is typically on something that a single provider is aggregating themselves which is relatively infrequent, but it's usually more specialty data. As far as all of the filters you mentioned, I have those and more. If you want to send me your current pricing I can see if I can beat it, but the answer is probably yes. Depending on volume I can also get you setup on your own system so if you want to pull your own data at your leisure you can, but if you'd rather have it pulled for you I can usually turn it around same day or next day at the latest. Probably 95% of the time I send out data the same day.

All my contact info is on my site or you can e-mail me, [email protected].

My clients and I, when I was was in the mortgage consulting business, bought thousands and thousands of lists over my 22 years in that field.

FWIW,

US Data, when I was in that field, was on my Do Not Use list, along with 25 or so others, for a litany of reasons......the gist is they were unreliable, sloppy, and had poor attention to detail. They didnt deliver what they said they could, reneged on promises, and refused refunds. Again, I must stress that my comments reflect only my experiences in that field.

I will futher caution you:

List vendors, on balance, are pathological liars.

DO NOT:

believe a list vendor when you are told your list has been scrubbed against the DNC.....only a fool would do this...scrub it yourself, the cost is next to nothing, if not free entirely.

buy a list from any vendor who refuses to give references....run, dont walk, away from this if it happens

take as gospel from any vendor that the data you're buying is ACTUAL vs. MODELED............inquire as to the difference, and the vendor begins to stammer and stutter when the subject is broached, go somewhere else

List vendors are an odd brand of duck.......they'd rather rip you off for $300 now than make a career-long customer out of you. They lie as a force of habit, even when there's no advantage to doing so, they're flippant with communication, and they're careless and have little, if any, attention to detail

If you'd like, backchannel me and I'll turn you on to some of my vendors from the mtg business, they may have insurance lists as well.

Be careful, believe nothing you can't verify, and always pay with a debit card with VISA logo in case of fraud...I bear the scars.

I too was in the mortgage business. I limited myself as much as I could to doing rural development deals and "A" paper deals. These were easy to come by so I did not have to purchase lists and buy leads but all of my friends who did was always disappointed at the end of the day with what they had purchased. I got out of the business because there was no end of the day gratification for me...just a commodity to sell. Insurance is where it is at. Buy your lists from Josh, and do your own mail drops.

Why not just use mail outs?

Mail outs can average anywhere from $30 and up per lead returned if you do it yourself (which in my opinion is the way to go in the long run). Some carriers like Monumental will provide discounts and "sort of" subsidize the cost of the mailer but then you will have to send a certain amount of business to that carrier.

Most of us are just trying to find the least expensive way to keep our pipeline filled. So, using a combination of mail outs, telemarketed leads, internet leads, etc we are trying to find the right mix at the right time to make it work.
