Final Expense Marketing Success! What is Most Efficient?

Hello,

My partners and i recently opened up a Financial Corporation. We focus on selling Final Expense products but we are diversified and offer financial consulting and retirement products.

We have researched cold calling, lead generations through the mail, door-to-door, and luncheons. We still haven't implemented any with total comfort of success.

Our villiage that we are targeting is a relatively suburban area equipped with a huge mall. There is a Jumbo Tron right outside of our office that flashes our company name and service about every mimute. We started cold-calling but received no luck with potential leads. I've done some research about the mailers and they offer 1000 mailers with a success rate of approximately 1.5-1.8%. We are leaning towards this method, but does anyone have experience with door-to-door and how they can go about this?

Can anyone share their 'optimal' way of marketing effectively with a relatively low-budget?
We are aiming for most time efficient with results! Yet again, who isn't!

Just my opinion, there are others on here who have a whole lot more experience marketing FE and I'm sure they will jump in. I only sell FE to new Med Supp clients.

But from my short stint when I did prospect for FE I found that the poorer areas or zip codes are more of a target rich environment for FE sales than the area you are describing where your office is.

In the area you are located (Lake County, Illinois) you will need a better marketing plan as this is not an area for FE (too much money in the area) FE should be targeted like Frank said in a poorer enviroment. The folks in your area would be looking for a different product.

Thats my 3 cents worth (because i'm worth more than 2)

I have to agree. Your financial consulting is probably what you need to expand.

BS There are poor people everywhere. In the richest zip codes in California there are poor people. You don't see them but they are everywhere. They may be living with a relative. They may be living in a group home or section 8 apartment complex or even a paid for house. They may live off their investments but their earned income is low and they may show up on your list that you purchased of low income people.

I think the best leads are direct mail leads and they are expensive.

The best way to make money (30 years in December) is to modify the company contract have new agents sell for you giving them 50% upfront where you keep the remainder and assign all the back ends and renewals to yourself.

This sounds realy awful and I have yet to do it but it has been done in so many shapes and ways to me and others that I know, that I know it is THE WAY TO SUCCESS.

Sarcastic, sad, and oh, so true. You asked. Other than that just beat your head against the phone or run through dark neighborhoods at night waving a rate card and holding a notepad to ask if people on the street have a burial plan "yet".

Oh---and if you do use direct mail leads you "skim off" the good ones and give the leftovers to your agents...you know...the cards where nobody is ever home. The poor slob getting 50% from you then drives over to the house waiving the card and burns up HIS gas saving you on this unnecessary expense.

Burned and tired out today so the truth comes out.

That's one way to look at it.

The Cheapest and most efficient way to prospect for FE is by cold calling a targeted marketing list.
You will probably find a better cross selling opportunity for your financial business by contacting Frank and using his medd supp strategies.

Your website is a mandatory read for anyone who wants to make it in this business! Thank you so much for this labor of love -- you went well and beyond! Invaluable.

While visitiing your site, I did the Quote Generating demo...WOW! How does it keep up with real time? When you use the quote generator, do you print out quotes from it to present to the client, or do you sign them up right online?
