Final Expense Riders

What kind of riders are you seeing that help make the sale or make final expense more marketable to our clientele?

For example: I saw a policy this weekend (not final expense) with a heart attack/stroke/cancer indemnity rider attached to it. I thought that was pretty cool, and havent seen one like that on a FE policy.

Of course there are critical illness, children, ADB, disability, NHWP riders.

But are you guys seeing anything unique like the one outlined above on any FE policies?

Pretty rare that I put any rider on an FE app. Maybe occasionally an AD&D. Very rare to do that.

I replace a lot of policies with riders on them.

I don't find that people send the card in looking for riders.

I consider riders 'value adds' others will disagree. I'd argue a Transamerica Policy with accidental and Ms.Grandmom's 4 Grandchildren on it as Riders is harder to replace then without.

Would you replace a policy with riders to one without to get someone a slightly higher FA?

Yes. Statistically, AD riders or child riders will never pay out. The chances are incredibly slim (this cannot be overstated). I'd rather my client put that extra 10 bucks into another 1-2k in coverage that will 100% benefit them and their family.

I flipped a guy out of a Royal Neighbors plan into a Settlers Gold plan due to offering double-indemnity and the $5000 grandchild rider.

Other than that, I rarely sell using riders or teach agents to do it.

We had a good many agents who started to use Settler's for the C/GC rider, but it's fizzled way down for whatever reason. Actually, I think I might know the reason but not sure.

Absolutely, do it all the time. I find gimmicks make my job easier.
