I had someone today tell me that they have a final expense policy that pays the premium if they are in a nursing home. Anyone know what final expense company does this?
thanks

Hmmm, I don't know about that, but from what I have in my bag, both Monumental and American Amicable have nursing home accelerated benefit riders, where you can access a portion of the death benefit if you're confined to a nursing home.

I don't know about a waiver of premium upon nursing home confinement though.

There are a LOT of people in nursing homes that have to cash out their FE policies in order to qualify for Medicaid.
For that reason I would consider the accelerated benefit rider to be much better than premium waiver.

Shenandoah Life had that benefit and Bankkers Fidelity has it also. It is not a very common benefit in FE, but can be a great one. Just ask the prospect who the policy is with.....that's the easiest way to find out ....
