Hi guys, I'm new to commercial, a one man shop, and got my first chance to quote a commercial policy. It's an ice cream shop in a Simon Property large mall here in TX. They have a General Liability policy, Commercial Auto, Umbrella, and Workers Comp, no losses and they are paying ~$4,500 a year with the hartford. I am using insurance noodle and just need some basic general advice of what to watch for etc. This is in N. Texas.

Thanks in advance

change their policies means write them under a different carrier?
why you need to change their policies at renewal? is it so you don't loose your commission?

most carriers have short fee cancellation fee that client has to pay if changing mid-term.

What ahppens if the prior agent is an ***? How much is the pentaly worth if they have a huge uncovered loss?

Hartford is probably going to be the lowest/best premium price. Maybe Travelers might be in the same range. Shop it, but you probably will be better off trying to Broker it over.
