I am trying to get some information on broker fee rules for commercial policies in Florida. I called the DOI and someone there said that they didn't have a rule, but I would like to find more information to confirm that this is accurate.

good question...all I came across for broker fees, where the $10 max on writing non standard auto...or just for writing pip/pd policies on personal auto's.

What type of commercial broker fees, where you thinking of charging?

States will vary of course, but in my state, on CL, I can only charge a broker fee on E&S policies.

We are looking at it for E&S policies, not for admitted policies, and specifically commercial policies. I've gotten some quotes and I see that local agents charge fees, but I'm curious as to the exact rule.

Your carriers will tell you if you are able to charge a fee on their products.

Does anyone know of any source regarding rules on broker fees in various states? Not all state web pages provide detailed information on the rules.
