FloridaBlue ACA Plans and HealthSherpa

This part is bs. There is no such law.

If you've got an insurance license it's perfectly legal to discuss any product with any carrier with a consumer. We all do it.
Yes, there is and as been around in Florida for as long as I can remember.

Yes, in Florida, it is illegal to explain the benefits of an insurance company if you are not appointed with that company, meaning you must be officially licensed and designated as an agent by the insurance company to discuss and sell their policies; this is outlined in Florida Statute 626.112 which states that no person can act as an insurance agent unless they are currently licensed and appointed by an appropriate entity.

And you just spent part of your afternoon proving my post.

The law you're quoting refers to someone "acting" as an agent. No license.

I said licensed. Appropriately licensed.

As licensed agents, we're free to discuss a company's products without an appointment. We just can't sell them without said appointment.

Think you should read it again and again. You are suppose to be appointed by the insurance company you are presenting to your prospects. No, it took me exactly 5 minutes to look that up. I got called out on this about 10 years ago so I do know Florida law on this subject.

Did someone just move the goal posts?

In my reply to @insuranceagent024 I used the word discuss. Now we're using the word present?

Saying that I can't discuss a product with a consumer would be the same thing as telling your local Ford dealer that he can't discuss a Chevrolet.

Discussing a product is not the same as presenting nor selling a product.

Shut up Meg.
