ahhh...sure...that makes sense...Obviously we can ask and get some info from their health ins info, but what if the ins company didn't do a thorough job in getting health info and they were accepted...doesn't LTC underwritting do a more thorough exam on files and health records of family members etc.
When I am discussing LTC the application has medical questions that either qualify or disqualify. We do the best as field underwriters and have tons of info to rate them accordingly. Once (MOO) receives they look at their medical records to get the full details, etc. If MOO finds something not noted on application they will either change rating (if applicable) or decline application. As far as family members I dont think an insurance company would have the right to be reviewing every family members medical records?? Not sure that makes sense to me, but I could be wrong...
