Foremost Business Program

Anybody on here writing through the Foremost business program? They are rolling out the commercial lines side in place of the disappearing Zurich Small Business program. Our agency has primarily written only high-incident autos through them with some occasional homeowners mixed in (although they are pulling HO product from Kentucky as we speak). But they have now approached us about being a commercial agent for them as well. We agreed to a contract but I'm wondering if they will be able to compete with our other markets in both price and product.

Any feedback both positive and negative would be appreciated for those who have given them a try.

Foremost has been challenging to do business with here in the northeast.

I can't remember the last time i even bothered to quote them for anything in NY or CT.

They are allegedly overhauling the entire program up here.. most contact i have with Foremost is every other month when the new sales rep gets hired. They always give me a call

This is true. The rep at the time was excited to tell me that they take folks with two or three dwi's but when I brought a elderly lady with two af acc.s, they wouldn't even rate it. There might be a niche there somewhere, I just have not found it yet.

We only use them for substandard property risks & their auto just sucks. Last I checked their payment plans are like 1 pay or 2 pay as well (no great options.)

Had 1 quote come back favorably on the rater..only to find out they declined to write the risk b/c the car had an accident with a previous owner & the payout exceeded some threshold of theirs.

Sounds like everyone on here has same impression of their personal lines that we do. Basically never use them.

Still curious about this new commercial lines side that they are taking over from Zurich Small Business??

We've been a Zurich agent for years. They have some great programs that will continue under the Foremost name. We write comp with them and a variety of BOPs. Also they have a good business auto program. We've never used them for any package stuff.
