Foresters by Telephone?

Rouse... c'mon... replace that piece. You know, they're CANADIAN and a FRATERNAL...

Thanks for the info on Foresters.. I just contracted with Equitable L&C.. They seem to have a good sell by Phone system in place but they don't compete with Foresters rates.. Does appear they will accept some for immediate coverage that Foresters would not accept.

Can't tell you how many deals I replaced by just saying "Mrs Jones, you realize Foresters is a Canadian company, correct?" :D:D

Planted that bug but she was going to her son's birthday party and I have to call her back.. I can get within $1.00 of the rate with UHL.. We'll see..

once you do one, you will never do it again. The entire process takes about 45 min. because of all the additional disclosures. I did one the other day that got declined at the end of the 45 min bs interview process. Why they don't get the voice signature for the MIB and rx check, and decline them BEFORE all the other nonsense is something I'll never understand. The underwriting decision is at the very end.

Ridiculous!

I second that sentiment. Brutal process. 45 minute length no exaggeration. Several recorded messages they have to listen to and agree to with no real opportunity to explain the legalese in layman terms. If app is for level but MIB picks up something that if had been answered yes would have been approved at graded are instead suspended. MIB has to be resolved, no ability to resubmit as graded.

Because they are so confused there, that even the people working at the producers help desk have no idea what they are talking about. You can ask the exact same question to two different reps, and get totally opposite answers. They are a nightmare to deal with!

yes you can ask three different people the same question and get three different answers. But that's true with many FE companies. Consider Americo and Mounumental. It happens at both of those places quite frequently.

As far as taking 45 minutes for a phone app, that is just not true. I have written hundreds of Foresters policies and they have never taken anywhere near that long. Yes it is a little longer than others but 45 minutes is just plain a huge exaggeration. It might take 5 to ten minutes, max.

What I do is while they are doing the phone interview I fill out the rest of the forms so when I get back to my office all the paperwork is filled out and ready to be faxed.

I believe the guy who posted he has replaced lots of Foresters products is a big fat liar, period. I pay attention to which policies are being replaced and its not Foresters. I believe in selling the sizzle not the steak. When I leave a clients home they are fully aware of the free benefits they are receiving with Forseters. There is no reason to replace a Foresters policy with anything else out there, unless of course your a fear monger.

From time to time I get a client who claims they are getting a better deal with another company. It never turns out to be true. Had one the other day where the client hung up on me after I persisted for 20 minutes that he was not getting what he thought he was getting.

When he got the final paperwork for his policy it was a term policy with, increasing payments. It was also from his State Farm agent. The client called me back and apologized profusely and wanted to make sure I did not cancel his policy.

For the most part if you wrote a Foresters policy a year ago or more the chances of getting that policy replaced are very small. If you take the time and try and get the client the best policy or something close and do a good caring, complete sales presentation they will stick.

If you fly through the benefits and don't sell the company, you need to be looking over your shoulder because somebody else just might take the time and do it right.

What is only 5 to 10 minutes? Is it the time you spend just asking the questions or are you including the time they spend talking to Foresters and Foresters tells you it's approved?
