I'm nominating this for the most ignorant post of the year.
I wouldn't if I were you. He's absolutely correct.

His market may be like mine. Business owners, middle to upper income. These people have money and don't think in terms of fixed income. They don't blink at $200 or more a month if it's something they want.

Congrats.
But I don't discriminate against middle and lower income people.
Apparently y'all don't believe they deserve to be protected like the rich folk:1rolleyes:

I have plenty of higher income and high asset clients, but the majority of my client base and normal boomers living on a regular fixed income. These people have budgets, and removing $400+ in premiums means a lot to them.

It means they can afford their medications again.
It means they can afford to eat.
It means they can afford to live again.

Arrogant medsupp only agents may laugh at these people, and throw them aside because these customers " can't understand the value of goin to Mayo", but they're people. And theyre just trying to get by.
And just because $200, $400, $500/mo means a lot to them, it doesn't make them any less valuable then any one else. It doesn't mean they shouldn't be properly protected and cared for.

To look down your nose at a customer because they can't afford a product is the peak of arrogance.

Money may not be everything in considering the protection of client, but it is a factor that should not be ignored.

Sorry friend but all of this is coming from you. I never said this and neither did anyone else on the forum.

I decided almost 50 years ago that I wanted to specialized in the business market and I did it. What I'm doing now, with Medicare is simply the after effects of that decision.

We all have low income clients. And yes, I also sell advantage plans. But I prefer supplements. I own a supplement. And I'm afraid that the majority of my clients do too.

Yup. Personal story. Simple ear infection viewed by aca hmo carrier as non serious enough to get scans, etc. No antibiotics worked. Otolaryngologist HMO choices were minimal. Turned into bells palsy, then mastoidectomy. My best agent friend we both know put me on group PPO after hiring daughter. She saved my life as I had to have a second major brain surgery to remove a brain abscess after 6 weeks of IV at home. This time I had access to the best brain surgeon for the 2nd surgery because of the PPO that no HMO had in network. Cochlear implant is in my near future per my doc. I can see the future but can't hear it.

Can't put a price on not being able to be part of conversations. And watching TV reading closed captioning is a delight. Thank you managed care!

I know this is just a snippet of your post but I had Bells Palsy at age 25. Not fun. I still have dreams that it comes back. Glad you’re Ok with your surgery, though.

Yagent, Somarco and Kingdom mom all deal with middle income to upper income . The avg retiree is lower middle income to low income .A big sliver of the middle income and above mkt gets medicare thru the state , federal govt , the huge CO’s like AT&T ,coke , ibm, ups etc . The avg agent works leads ( Facebook , direct mail ,direct transfers , tv leads , inbound postcard leads . I think that’s were the argument is coming from . The avg agent doesn’t run into the more affluent client that can afford med sups . They’re worried about paying for food , rent , car payments , medicine etc . Just like the vast majority of Americans didn’t plan for a comfortable retirement they didn’t plan for a med sup expense .

No truthfull agent ever says a plan that has no premium is better than a plan that has a substantial premium . But the way most med sup agents paint mapd as is not truthful . It’s mostly very good coverage with copays . It’s the ins The vast majority of Americans can afford . I speak facts with the truth . I personally will buy a sup when I get on Medicare because $250 a month means little to me . Not because I think a mapd is bad . I want no copays .I can afford it .I’ve been on a gold Ambetter for 5 yrs with zero issues .And that’s a closed Hmo .

You say you would spend $100k to get your hearing back but you didn’t choose to pay out of pocket when the insurance company wouldn’t do you what you allege you needed?

Hmmm… why? Was it MONEY? You know that thing you claim beneficiaries shouldnt care about…

Yup, in retrospect, I made a mistake, a lifetime mistake. Who knew a simple ear infection could turn into 2 brain surgeries. I have an HSA plan (for 18 yrs), so I pay out of pocket regardless.

Recently had a relapse of bad head pains, got concerned, something wasn't right. Dr ordered MRI on my PPO, pre auth was going to take 1 week. Or, I can do one tomorrow for $400 cash. I Didn't make the same mistake this time. Got it done, somewhat clear results.
