Future of P&C Insurance Agencies

You know when it comes to insurance a study in 2008 showed that 80% of the people went online to quote but love talking to an agent when its time to purchase. I'm kinda feeling the P&C Agency needs to be better marketers and include as many products as possible for client retention,
 
Any of you who've purchased auto/home internet leads should be able to gauge the quality of client who's buying online.

I addressed similar fears a few years ago by establishing a strong,visible online presence. That investment has yet to pay for itself but it proved a valuable point...about the value of the agent relationship.

Very true, same with health/life. At least auto leads have to buy SOMETHING if they have a car and care at all about driving legally (of course you may not want to write em). Health leads tend to be from people who most likely won't buy at all.

Watching the tube the other day, and found the Geico ad very ironic. There was an animated lizard telling everyone if they wanted to call Geico (after going online of course), they would get a real live person on the other end to talk to. Really? No, I want to talk to the gekko!
