I've noticed that several carriers are still paying commissions on the APTC portion, even though the client is in their 30,60,90 day grace period due to non payment of their own portion of the premium.
This quote proves the gov't is just paying carriers, and they in turn paying us. If your client doesn't get caught up before 90 days expires, be prepared for those clawbacks..........probably next year sometime.
Quote of the Day
"The Obama administration has no idea how many people are currently enrolled [in public exchanges] but they keep cutting checks for hundreds of millions of dollars a month for insurance subsidies for people who may or may not have paid their premium, continued their insurance, or are even legal residents."
— Robert Laszewski, president of Health Policy and Strategy Associates, LLC, told AIS's Inside Health Insurance Exchanges.
