Getting New Office Computer....is Windows 8.1 Okay?

That is what I do on my Surface PRO.[/QUOTE

Tablet?

I use an iPad because of one app. Notability.

Yeah, but with the keyboard it does blur the line between tablet and laptop. Have not had any issues running any insurance software yet. Including Compulife.

I use Win 8.1 and love it. It also looks great with my large "monitor".

I should learn it, just so easy not to though.

my mom bought a windows 8, I wanted to run the designers over with my truck,

Bought the wife a new laptop and she is not very computer literate....I am like WTF talk about taking 15 years of doing things one way and then changing everything.

exactly, it was worse then the original windows 1. LOL

......or should I buy one that is still Windows 7?

Is anyone out there using Win. 8.1 and liking it or is it a big PITA?

Thanks for weighing in....I'm buying in next 24 hours.

I second that 8.1 with touchscreen isn't bad. Without touchscreen...is bad.

Although in all fairness, I have a docking station for my tablet at the office and use it almost exclusively with a full size mouse and keyboard (and larger screen) and don't touch the screen very much in that situation. When you're using stuff like MS Office or a web browser in desktop mode, you don't need the touchscreen quite as much.

Install Classic Shell. It will look like windows 7 and you can still use the new interface when you want. Best of both worlds. I hated 8 but now I love it. Try it

Which tablet do you have? I have a Surface PRO I got a few months as go. I am thinking of replacing my laptop which I use as my desktop.
