Gifts From FE Prospects

In this last few weeks alone, I have been offered/given:

-From 1 can of Miller light to a box of Natural Light.
-A shot of Alabama Moonshine along with a chaser of water (at 11AM in the morning).
-Freshly grown corn
-Freshly grown banana peppers and cayenne peppers.
-Offered to climb up a John Deere combine (never seen one of those -- felt like a dork but pretty sweet to see in person).
-Duque Cigar (definitely took him up on it -- saving it for when my twins are born).

Have you all gotten anything funny or memorable from your prospects?

I had one client give me 2 $2 bills in a plastic protective case for my kids with a picture of Obama taped over the face of a real president.

I would have to think hard about accepting that one!!

Love the way you said "real president."

I have a client that every time I go to his house he has a chore for me usually something to do with his computer, then tries to pay me with worthless baseball cards. I am not saying all baseball cards are useless, but the one's he is offering are.

Had a client that lived in a farm community but had more farm animals in his back yard than most farms. Chickens, goats, a cow and some mean looking roosters.

He was very proud of his home made goat cheese. That stuff was nasty. Insisted I take a big hunk with me. It only took a few minutes to find a dumpster but the stench stayed in the car for a week.

i had one try to give me a little jack donkey Tues of this week. I didn't need it or want it but I told my neighbor about it yesterday and they went down and got it.

I love getting homemade food and garden items from clients.
Have one client, that will never have me over before noon, so it gives her time to prepare a 3 course meal for me (every single time I go there). Another client that won't have a conversation with me unless we're drinking some kind of cheap beer or homemade wine (he actually makes good wines). Have another client that makes terrible homemade wines...I tell that guy I can't drink on the job because it's against the law, he doesn't question it.
Have many, many clients with gardens and farms that give me produce. That's my wife's favorite.
People are very giving, by nature. Makes it fun to run face-to-face with these people.

I got tipped with catfish before. They were actually pretty good too.

Got Libs chocolates yesterday. Best chocolate in the world.

Offered a kitten. No thanks. Only thing worse than a kitten would be two kittens.

A lady tried to sell her Elvis collection to me. I must have shown too much interest. I like early rock-a-billy Elvis. But I don't want to dedicate a whole room of my house to him.

I was given a little tea pot. These people "played the teapots" and wanted to get more people into it. They put their mouth on the spout and kind of "humm" into it. Guess what it sounds like? If you said "humming" you're right! They said that they go to garage sales and start playing for all the people there. "Teenagers just love it! It always makes them laugh and enjoy themselves"............... I'll bet they do !
