As I'm doing a piece on Go Telemarketing (aka TS Lead) I got in touch with Shawn Ismail, an attorney in Plano Texas hired to sue Go Telemarketing.
He's sending me some recorded telemarketing presentations. This is not only a reason to stay away from this outfit, but in general this goes to why agents shouldn't be looking for companies to set appointments.

Now....listen to that script. The tag line is:
"Congratulations, you just qualified for the new benefits added for year of 2011."
And to actually set the appointment for the agent?
"So I will be sending you the information. Grab a pen and paper handy and make a note of important information. You can write it down the name is Denise...reverse mortgage specialist on the third of March at 10am that's it, ok ma'am?"
Now, he states that he will be "sending" her the information. Sending her to me means mailing information. But like a freight train, he races through...third of March at 10am."
So there are three questions:
1) Does the prospect really understand that someone is coming out to meet with her?
2) Does the prospect fully understand that the agent is coming out to see her to sell her a reverse mortgage?
3) Is it illegal or just unethical to tell the prospect "congratulations, you just qualified for the new benefits of 2011?"
If anyone here has used Go Telemarketing or TS Lead, please contact me at [email protected]
