I have a question that I was hoping someone can answer me:

What companies have the best pay out rates for SPIAs?

- Single Life
- Joint Life

Thanks,
John

great, thanks

I don't know why its not more popular.

Seems to me that if retired people put a certain amount of their savings into an SPIA (say 15-20%) with the guarantee of never running out of that money, that's peace of mind.

American Equity and American General have payouts.
It might depend on the age of the annuitant. I agree that American Equity provides higher payouts in some cases, but I respectfully disagree in reference to American General. Other companies with higher payouts than American General include Allianz, American National, Hartford, Lincoln Life, and Security Mutual Life of NY.

It depends on the specific case, but I've generally found Am Equity and ANICO to have the highest payouts and ANICO has some nice liquidity options.
