Hi,

Has anyone heard of Great American Financial Resources? They have division called Great American Senior Benefits. Sounds pretty good but I thought I would get some feedback here. They have the same ole' stuff; FE, Medicare supps, annuities but they provide leads.

Thanks

Good company. They are out of Cincinnatti OH. The Cincinnatti Reds ballpark is named after them. A rated. Their family of companies includes Central Reserve, United Teacher Associates and Loyal American. Here in Arkansas Loyal has very competitive Med Supp rates. UTA and Loyal are both very competitive here in Final Expense.

Great American Senior Benefits is just the captive division of Great American. You take a huge cut in commission for some leads.

Like any captive situation, it all depends on the local manager. I've not heard good things in our area but it's probably the local management because Great American is a good company.

I found their comp is pretty good and they provide a lot of support. One fellow I knew went from an agent level to one of the top levels in just over two years.

I focus on P&C, but I think Med Supp and senior products is the future - I may switch soon!

Yep, they are a good well rated company. They have a couple of new index annuity accounts out that are attractive now. The Medicare supplements are not always the most competitive.

Thanks for the feed back - I agree with you all. Med supps and Adv won't make you rich but the goal is to use them to sell the other products. The other products are where the money is. - My Opinion.

I have not sold annuities and this would be the add-on product I think would make it profitable.

Any flaws in this thinking?

Yeah, you could add-on 1 annuity a month and make 2 times what you would with MA or Med Sups ;)

Thanks, what is a good commission rate for annuities? How would you recommend you lead into them from a Med / FE sale?

A good 'Needs Analysis' is your best bet. Once you find out all about your client you will see what annuity products will suit them best. This should be done after you begin to talk with your client and build rapprt.

As far as using Med Supp as a door opener, I think you have exactly the right gameplan.
