Some Friday night off time, I usually do non-money making activities while catching up on dvr recordings ;)

I'm needing to change biz cards, new address, and was tinkering with my "title"... Used to use "Financial Advisor", and other stuff like "President" as I'm the president of the firm, etc... But think I want a more "marketable" title, to say more of what I do...

FYI - I do whole life for private banking, bank on yourself situations, and whole life or IUL for tax free retirements, etc... We position ourselves as the never lose money with us firm...

Thoughts? Ideas...

Let's hear 'em...

- Financial Strategist
- Personal Macro-Economist
- Financial Efficiency Consultant
- Financial Coordinator
- Financial Architect
- Lost Opportunity Cost Consultant
- Wealth Transfer & Recapture Consultant
- Multiply Your Wealth Without Risk Advisor
- Fire Your Finance/Credit Card Company And Keep The Profits For Yourself Advisor
- "No Income Taxes During Retirement" Advisor
- Increase Your Retirement Income by up to 33% Without Risk Consultant

Yep, they're wordy. And I just created these off the top of my head. But the idea is to get the person's attention.

I'd leave out the words 'financial' and 'planner' as much as you possibly can. They just say "boring" and "long-winded" to your prospect. Advisor or Consultant are probably fine as long as it's attached to a benefit that a person wants to enjoy.

Like 'em DHK, like you said, too long for card...

Gave some ideas though... Like the word "Design"

Retirement Designs

Tax Free Retirement Designs
Tax Free Designs
Risk Free Retirement Designs
Etc Etc...

"Design" also implies creativity, right-brained, abstract and "out-of-the-box" kind of thinking. I like it.

Agree. I've even considered changing name of my firm from "Group" at the end to "Design" or "Designs"

Leave off the title.

Good idea. I asked this on another private forum and was suggested the same.

I think it depends, sometimes company tells you all, sometimes not, then you go to name/title...

XYZ Financial Group -- you could be an accountant, tax guy, banker, mortgage officer or investment person... or none of above.

What do you look for?

If you are an insurance agent, then say insurance agent.

Honestly, the titles can be very vague and over the top. Financial consultant, financial planner, and etc?

Just like someone mentioned before, that could be lawyer, accountant, tax professional, investor, etc.

When **** hits the fan and you need tax deductions and everything, and your accountant says "you need some life insurance or annuities" then the person will look for an insurance agent. The financial planner doesn't come across as being able to do the same things.

I'm also a very straight and to the point kinda person.

I'm tempted to put on my card "willing to earn your business no matter how many times I have to sell my mother to do it" but it seems too long to fit. So instead I just put "Insurance specialist" and on the card "home, auto, life, business, and more!" That way if someone needs to talk to an insurance agent, personal or commercial, someone knows they can talk to me.
