Having a Moment...can't Remember Where

coverage lies if an Insured has an auto policy with Company A and a home policy with Company B. Insured owns a lawn tractor with attachments for plowing snow, pulling a little lawn trailer, etc. I know that as long as the tractor stays on the residence premises then Company B picks up the injury/damage. But what happens if while plowing snow the Insured has to go out on to the street (maybe push the snow into the ditch on the other side or to go plow the alley behind the house or whatever)? Vehicle is not designed to be on the roads so can't be licensed. But tractor is not being used as a vehicle and would be adjacent to the premises. I can't see how the auto policy with Company A would be on the hook anywhere - shouldn't it all be with Company B on the home policy?

Don't have an actual claim - someone asked me the question and I just can't remember and can't seem to find an answer I'm happy with in policy language so appreciate input from others :1confused:

Of course it depends on specific company, but I've always been told by adjusters that if it leaves the residence property standard liability will not apply. Auto wouldn't extend because it's not a vehicle that can be insured under an auto policy.

The one time I've had this come up, the only available coverage was through the Property of others, and maxed at $500.00.

State to state this will be different...

Would your personal liability from you HO policy kick in if you injured someone with a golf ball on the course????

Look into what the definition of personal liability is in your state...
