A little something to lift your spirits

ACV on life insurance!?! If it's based on my age and condition, that would not be good for me!

Al3x, you still have my vote for Insurance Commissioner, but let's stick to P&C for now. ;)

Look... @Policy Monkey , this may be hard to believe, but I am a licensed life insurance agent. As the future Supreme Insurance Dictato… I mean, Commissioner of the great state of California, ACV will be the future of all insurance.

Yes, life, just like your car, your home, your favorite vintage guitar, has an actual cash value. And guess what? Nobody should disagree with that.

I mean, why wouldn't we make life insurance ACV? It's just logical to take a human being, with their hopes, dreams, personality, relationships, and unique experiences and slap a cold, hard number on it. Because what truly matters in life, is how much you're worth if you're gone.

You're probably thinking, "Wait, isn't life priceless?" But come on, if that were true, how could we ever insure it in the first place? Sure, your soul doesn't have a price tag, but your life? You life insurance guys slap a dollar sign on that all day everyday.

Now... we will subtract a little depreciation, like we're calculating the value of a 2012 sedan. Why? Because life is like any other asset. You hit a certain age, and suddenly, you're not a new model, you're more "oh, it still runs, but don't expect it to last much longer."

And, of course, the kicker here is that all these numbers and calculations make grieving your loss easier. Imagine your family, free from worry, because your ACV has been carefully calculated. How comforting, How heartwarming.

I promise you, ACV will be the gold standard. Life insurance that's built for reality. Life insurance that protects your family the way it should. Because Actual Cash Value is fair, it's powerful, and frankly, no one should disagree with this!

*Continuing the automotive metaphor* Hopefully I'm at the bottom of my depreciation curve. Once I'm considered a classic or antique, I might actually start going up in value. After all, I am an unrestored survivor, and often found in a barn!
