It seems to me that everyone is jumping into the health insurance market these days. After a short period of time they are calling themselves experts. How long would it really take to become an expert??

Once your association reaches 50,000 members...you are an "expert." And instantly...each member of the association becomes an expert.

To qualify as a "Ruby."...you need to have 2500 posts on our Association Forum. You also need documentation that you have placed 1000 policies in your career. Also, your blog must be at least 36 months old with at least 500 comments.
We have only had one "Diamond" member since the Association's founding in 1967. His name was Al Hrabosky and he was a legend in the insurance business. He placed more than 20,000 policies and had a food kitchen for the uninsured. I believe he was Hungarian....and quite angry most of the time.

I read that 50% of new agents don't last 18 months. So if you make it over 18 months, you are an expert.
