I'm a retired claim rep. I spent my life in the insurance industry. I have been a PC underwriter, agent for PC and LH, investigator for life and disability claims, auto liability claim rep and property loss adjuster.

Thought I'd drop by and see what's going on.

Welcome to the forum! Dry heat! :D I'm from AZ, but live in TX now, in the Dallas area. People complain about the summer heat here. They just don't know!

My daughter lived in Dallas for many years. I visited frequently. Nice weather except for the humidity.

Gonna be 112 today in Phoenix.

Gonna be 95 today in Dallas.

95 in Phoenix is a cool Spring day.

Although with 66% humidity in Dallas, I don't envy you folks.

Jack...what's your opinion of the heat in Phoenix vs. the Heat in S.Fla.? (have you been here?)?

thanks

I've never been to S. Fla but I've been to GA and SC during the humid season and hated it. Also grew up in NYC where it's humid during the summer.

At the moment (4PM in AZ) it's 115 degrees with 8% humidity.

In Miami it's 81 degrees with 62% humidity. Too damp for me in spite of the cooler temp.

I moved from Phoenix to southeastern VA in 1990, which is when I first got into this business. MetLife sent me to agent's training for 2 weeks in July of that year. Their training facility was in Tampa. The July heat & humidity in Tampa was definitely the most oppressive I had ever experienced! The temps & humidity are similar where I live in TX now. Difference is, in Phoenix, once it hits 100 (usually April or May), it stays hot with no relief for about six months! Here in TX, a rainstorm can cool everything down by 10-20 degrees in a single afternoon, so we get some respite. Does Florida experience some "relief days" like that during the summer?

We do that on purpose to keep the riffraff out.

Otherwise there would be 20,000,000 living here shoulder to shoulder and it's already too crowded.

In fact, once the immigration wall is completed across Southern Arizona we're going to extend it all the way around the state.
