Hi all!
I am new to this forum. There is a LOT of great information! I just got my Life and Health and I plan on tying it in with my Series 7 and doing financial planning. I have a LARGE natural market and I am thinking of going independent. Most say I should go with an agency to "learn the ropes". I am not sure about that. I have been in sales for many years (software) and really just need to get started. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? All comments are welcome.

Welcome to the forum and we are glad to have you here.
The answer to your question really depends on you. You can go independent and learn the ropes you know. Go Independent and learn from other agents. Do your homework and work your butt off and you will be fine.

Welcome Florida! For unbiased advice or info...feel free to PM or email.

There's nothing wrong with "learning the ropes," but you don't want to go broke in the process.

An "agency" will be a great asset...assuming you have at least one person that is working very closely with you.

Get good advice from experienced brokers doing the type of work you hope to be doing.

If you're going independent and selling health then the IHIAA is a good place to start if you need help. Also make sure you shift through the archives here. With your prior experience in sales it shouldn't be too hard of a transition.
