This is a bit frustrating...because we are a newly established insurance agency in NY (I mean REALLY NEW...no previous experience...knowlege..nothing...just a license), no insurance company will deal directly with us and therefore we have to turn to General Agents for quotes. Now, if our GA writes an Excess Line policy, they charge a fee that makes a dent on the premium that we have to proposed to our clients. I know that you need 3 declinations prior to submitting requests to Excess Line insurance companies, but I'm not really sure how it exactly works...like can we do this ourselves without having to go to our GA?
