Help for a New Guy??

Hi all- I've been lurking for a week or so, and finally decided it would be best just to ask everyone their thoughts.

Situation is this- started in the P&C side 7 yrs ago- working for a captive Allstate agent, doing just P&C personal lines.
3 yrs ago, moved to an indy agent, intially doing P&C personal lines, then middle of '08 moved to commercial lines. Needless to say, the economy and none of the "business buyers" (those markets which would slash rates to 80% of manual) isn't helping.
So..agency had an agreement with a Life, Health, Benefits and the two agents have gotten older, no pizzazz or anything.
I've been "tasked" to get things going. Initially they are just looking for Health (both individual and group). We have secured markets through a GA here in central PA, so the markets are there.
I've started to mine the treasure that is the existing book of commercial clients, however the book isn't huge.

I'm looking for help in what other ways of prospecting there might be, and if there are things I need to focus on. Also if there is any good training available.

I'll point out that until the recent market, I've always been successful in the sales arena. This is basically my last shot- I need to make this go or it might be the end of things with this agency (unfortunately, they are the biggie in town and I live in a SMALL town)

I'll take whatever advice, recomendations or what not.

thanks to all
Chris
