I have a friend who absolutely refuses to believe this and I dont know how to explain to them that this is something that is bad. Is their any thread's or links or anything to help me out with this here?

Tell them that the product he's dealing with deals with the 4 cornerstones of life:
If he gets cancer, his
1. Health care - will be compromised or nil
2. Money - he won't have any left or in debt forever
3. God - he'll be praying daily to his master
4. Family - who will be crying daily for his recovery
Indeed there are several threads about this. When you use the search button use "limited benefit" as well as "mini-med" as a search. You'll find lots of reasons why we hate those products!! The accumulated premium is almost always more than the plan ever would pay on a claim. If there is a particular product from a specific carrier, google it. Usually where there is smoke there is fire, and you'll find lots of angry people who once had these plans.
