Help with FE Client...

Is Vantis worth picking up? I'd like to have a competitive GI product.

As long as you just see it as business that you weren't going to get anyway and don't count on it sticking, it's OK. I've had them a year and I've written VERY little with them. Big window for chargebacks even on an as earned basis.

One of the forum regulars is getting ready to offer contracts for them and make it easier to contract. It was hard to get through when I did it.

Are there any other insurance products that can help fund this $5k or $10k need? (something a child can buy for parent....or at least fund with the idea of using for parents' burial)

I'm not saying I'd sell it, but if there are plans available to sell like the AARP plan? (no health questions....although not sure if nursing care is an issue or not with that plan)

I thought Forethought's new plan, Funeral Guard/Trust might work....

Daughter seems to think that mom is is good health overall, and she anticipates her living a long time.

The ForeThought Trustguard has been temporarily pulled and when released is expected to be single pay only.

A Preneed policy could be purchased by the daughter from a funeral home with or without the mother's knowledge.

Other than that the typical GI final expenses like MOO and Americo.

Hmm... so what you're saying, Newby, is that if my Vantis client dies in the 23rd month on an as-earned basis, they will charge me back the entire amount?

Yes, that's what it means. You will be charged back everything you were paid if the client dies in the first two years of having the policy.

Most of the ROP plans work that way. Another reason to not fool with them. Even when agents could sell the MoO they were charged back if the person died during the first two years. There is one that is a year and a half chargeback. Might be UHL?

So, does Americo, UHL, and Vantis all have products that can be sold to someone while in nursing home?

If applicable, would this be a case for doing some type of preneed funeral plan? Please explain these types of arrangements/products. I really don't understand them very well.

I'm not sure if UHL precludes nursing home or not. Vantis and Americo will allow them to be in a nursing home and still provide coverage. Vantis will be close to the price of MoO. Americo will be 3 times the price of MoO.

I was just getting ready to post something in the offers section now that we can offer Vantis contracts. This person would be a perfect fit for the product.

With regard to the chargeback provision, it is 100% for months 1-12 and 50% months 13-24. I don't really mind the chargeback provisions if it will help keep the pricing in line. At this point there is nothing that's even close to it that an independent agent can sell. Pricing is within a buck or two either way of MOO depending on their age since MOO bands the ages.
