Here It Comes: Governement Health Plan

You in VISTA? I don't believe it for a second that you were in VISTA. You post behind a cloak which gives you the ability to lie with impunity. You can (and do) say anything you make up in order to try to impress us. Others here think you're some kind of "god." I think you are just an uncommonly good fabricator of tall tales and wishful thinking.

In my world, an honest man does not post from the darkness. And you sir, are not an honest man in my opinion.

If you want to post your xenophobic and homophobic political clap-trap, fine. But don't for a minute think that I'm stupid enough to believe for a second anything you claim about your past or present life... from VISTA to your Nobel Peace Prize. (The same for all the others here who claim this, that, or the other thing about their lives... but who post from the shadows.)

Yup. And while your braincells are occupied trying to make sense of it all (keep in mind that no one asked you to make any assumptions in the first place) you can start to work on digesting the fact that when I was in VISTA I served on the West Coast.

I don't know of one single reason for anyone who is honest and has integrity to post here behind a cloak. I can think of a thousand reasons why those without honesty and integrity should post from the darkness.

I think that allowing people to post from the shadows cheapens this venue, and I would not allow it, but this is not my board and the owners and moderators seem to have no issues with it... and their word is law on any web-chat board.

Well, let's think of why someone would not want everyone to know who they are. Maybe they don't want their clients to read their political views since those views havce nothing to do with their ability to counsel their clients as to their insurance choices.

Maybe they don't want others to know who there are because they don't know when and if some left wing nut or right wing wacko will personally attack them. It's far easier to call someone a racist (as you have many times) when you don't know who that person is. And just because you are willing to let people know where you live it doesn't mean that your position on any subject is better than others.

Just like having a website where you point out that most other agents are simply in it for the money and don't care about their clients makes it right. It makes that a great marketing tool.

And fortunately this is not your board or my board so all opinions (even yours and mine) are welcome.

Rick

Why cant this board be a place where we can intelligently and reasonably discuss the issues that face our industry.

A place where we can share best practices and learn from each other.

A place where a man or woman can express their opinion on the issues of the day without be branded good or evil.

And to quote that great modern sage Rodney "I wasnt high on angel dust and I didnt do it" King: A place where we can all just get along...

San Francisco? No wonder you are so homophobic. Some of those old queens must have seen you as "sweet cheeks" and probably hit on you, big time.

You in VISTA? On the West Coast? I love good fiction. Tell us more. There could be a mini-series here!

al3 you're exactly the type that made it easy for me to leave CA. You're exactly what I've come to expect from a liberal. Angry mean and nasty. An elitist to the core and a pseudo-intellectual with absolutely zero tolerance for any one with an opposing or even slightly differing point of view. You have no solid arguments so all you can do is throw out angry insults in some banal attempt to sound intelligent. I know your type and feel nothing but pity for you.

As for "Universal Health Care" why don't we ask the Canadians, Brit's and Cuban's how well it works. I for one wouldn't want to be told that my cancer is too far advanced so just stay home and die. And I certainly don't want my Dr's office to look like the DMV. The private sector has it's flaws but it sure beats the hell out of anything the government can do.

Upfront costs complicate Obama's health care plan

We discussed somewhat, or at least I asserted, in the discussion on the California bailout that this country is, in the end, still a center-right country and that at some point the love affair with Obama will bump up against the desire to not shortchange our children's future. If you read this linked article on healthcare you can see that issue beginning to get traction. It is still a few months away. But it is coming bigtime. We are all still in the ga-ga, spend-it-like-you-got-it mode. But the bailout fatigue is coming. Doesnt mean healthcare wont fly but it does mean that some things won't. It may feel like we are digressing a little and going off-topic when we talk about California's problems and GM's problems but they are attached to health care in a major way. The dems think we are going to fund everything. The folks in the heartland say we are not. We shall see.

Wow. All that vitriol on just his first post here. I hope you like Colorado better than CA. I'm told it's the state where men are men... and cows are scared.

I'm sure you will do well there with only a junior college education. I also have no doubt that your leaving California for Colorado... raised the IQ level of BOTH states.

But you better look out because we mean, nasty, pseudo-intellectual liberal types are gaining on you. Someone told me that Colorado went for Obama by about 10%. We're everywhere. We're here, we're queer, and we're going to scare the bejabbers out of you!

Welcome to the NFL, rookie.

John Edwards was indeed right there are two Americas but not the two that he envisions.

There is an America that just wants to be left alone and there is the other that wants to nurse at the government tete.

The self reliant America is beginning to wake up and realize that we have run out of money, the federal government cant fix everything, the states like CA, and corporations like GM's woes are the result of extreme mismanagement and hubris and as a result the taking back of the congress by responsible fiscal conservatives both republican and democrat is now the order of the day.

While I agree with you, I wouldn't bet much that it's gonna happen.

Until the ELECTORATE gets serious about demanding more from their elected officials - there won't be any change. As Churchill famously said, "people get the kind of government they deserve."

The lowest common denominator is pretty damn low - just look at the public schools!

Until people vote, and vote based upon some intelligent criteria that's not based upon what they see in television commericals, nothing will change. Sad, but true.
