Hey everyone this is my first post but I've posted on other threads before and as many of you may already know I'm captive with LM for a few years now.
I'm looking into going captive and working on a niche market to get into, and the more I think about it high net worth clients seem to be the best fit. First off, my partner is a financial advisor who already specializes in that market, and knows many affluent people in the area plus he comes from a wealthy family too.
Plus LM doesn't write any high net worth policies so I would t be in direct violation of the non compete, and could have all of my LM contacts refer all coastal, high value homes over to me as we'll as commercial.
Everyone has been really helpful on this board and I guess my question would be, what companies are best for specializing in writing high value homes and coastal properties and what would be any potential barriers to entry or difficulties I may come across with this as my target market. I just feel like if it was easy everyone would have that market for the obvious reasons of higher premiums an commissions.
How are loss ratios overall in that market?
Thanks in advance for any help on this.
