Holes in Geico Policy?

How you poke holes in the Geico policy when trying to get a client
to combine home/auto coverage with you? Geico is always going to be
slightly cheaper for the same coverage.

Geico doesn't do home, they operate like any agency when it comes to that. Find out what carrier the home is with. A lot of monoline property carriers have a separate % hurricane deductible - that is a big selling point when i tell someone their deductible could be 5 or 6k in such an event. That alone is often reason enough even if i don't save them a dime.
Before you go telling them that, though, it would be good to find out which carriers do that in your state, if any do at all - it wouldn't do to go telling people that then their dec page says otherwise.

If they have been with Geico for a long time, you just might come out less with your carrier. My brother was with Geico for over 40 years and I just wrote his auto and saved him a ton of money and it wasn't even combined with his home.

I often beat Geico rates without bundling anything. I don't know why agents are so afraid of Geico.

Lost some people with no prior to Geico before but I keep them on file and in 6 months we kill Geico almost every time.

^ I've seen GEICO be very competitive on people w/ garbage credit. On a level playing field (in my market...) they're hit or miss. Sometimes they can smoke me. I hate GEICO like I hate Erie.

GEICO typically has really low premiums in my area from what I've seen. I'm certainly not afraid of them, price isn't EVERYTHING, but their extremely competitive pricing plus how difficult they make it to cancel causes me to hate them with a passion beyond compare.

Why is it difficult to cancel?

I had a Geico policy like 5 years back, first car in my name. Bought it on a Saturday night at like 9pm. Canceled on Monday when i could call my agent. Literally too 2 sec to cancel.

I assume you don't deal with them much?
Good luck getting any information about where to send a cancellation request. They won't provide it. I was lucky enough to track down a fax number for one of their local offices once, but I have no idea how much that actually helps to send a cancellation notice there.
They won't talk to you if you call with any inquiries - I guess it's part of their retention practices. Most of the time you end up having to get the insured to call them. If you somehow find a way around it, GEICO WILL call them. And they will hound the hell out of them, and much like the cable company they do cut their pricing to try and keep the customer. You can't even get someone to call them for a simple proof of insurance without their rep basically trying to beat it out of them that they're shopping around. I don't expect ANY company to just take it lying down and lose the business without trying, but GEICO goes above and byond.

All in all, they are by far the most aggravating carrier to deal with.
