I trashed all of Old American's rate's, I would imagine slightly cheaper than LH.. Did Old American offer you a huge contract? In my experience Old American took about 2 weeks to issue a final expense policy when everyone else took 72 hours.
Rates are not the lowest, but competitive. Turn around is good if there are no problems. I wrote a 59 yo woman with 5 year old heart problems a standard policy with a 4K graded policy on her husband who is on dialysis and had the policy approved and in their hands within a week to week and a half. I faxed the app on a Thursday and was paid a week later on Friday.
They normally treat their agents pretty good. Depends on your general agent manager though.
