How Long Do You Work Leads?

Can I get your guys opinion about how long you work a new internet lead and what methods you find the most successful in reaching them?

I find that out of every 5 leads I can usually close 1 of them. Another one I may close but not right away. 3 of them I will never reach. I'd say I write about 20-25% of all "good" internet leads. Mind you that before fall out (15% of the ones I write will cancel the Portamedic, get rated too high, don't send back the paperwork, etc etc).

In the first 3 days I will usually call the new lead 3 times/day. I send out an email right away but I don't leave a voice mail until about the 3rd day. Days 4-14 I will usually try to call once a day at different hrs (leave another vm and probably another email). Days 15-30 I will call sporatically. Day 30 I dead lead it and get it out of my life because I am sick of seeing that persons name :skeptical:

Do I need to do anything different (my work phone comes up. Sometimes I will use my cell and block my number) or does anybody want to contribute their 2 cents about what works for them or doesnt?

Thanks!

If you are closing 20 to 40 percent you don't need my help. You need somebody to help you carry your wallet.

It sounds like you have a good system going. Ten percent is a good goal for our agency.

We get too many leads per agent to make the follow up calls to get our closing ratio up. We usually make one call and do the rest of the follow up by email and snail mail. Every month we email everybody who has ever visited our website and who hasn't opted out of our list. We US mail a few times per year.

Of course we follow up on all those who call or email us.
