How Long to Hit Your Stride?

I'm wondering how long it took you all to feel like you've "made it" in this industry? I'm just beginning (actually still studying for my PA L/H exam) and was just curious as to how long I will feel like a Newbie...
I'm sure it varies but at about what point did you sit down one day and say "Hey, this is pretty cool... it's working!"...

Any responses greatly appreciated...

Same here. I understood what I was doing after about 6 months, but felt comfortable about the career after 4 years. I do multi-line, so there was a bigger learning curve for me.

I did "quit" about once a week during the 1st 6 months.
; )

I've been at it for about six and a half months, and something *clicked* for me about two weeks ago. I went from hoping and praying for an app a week to writing at least one a day for some time now. I rather like it.

I lost track of how many times I "quit" over the first couple of months, but my fiancee might have a tally somewhere.

there must have been some good mentors along the way. Care to elaborate..........LOL

Great Job!

Drew, you're spot on!

Somarco, Moonlight, Mark, you, and the presence of this forum are in no small part to thank. Now if you guys could all band together and convince the lady that $4000 really isn't all that much to spend on a motorcycle...

Thanks for all the repsonses. Nothing better than having confidence in what you're doing. I love what I do for a living now and have all the confidence in the world with it but I realize my income is limited working for someone else.

I've been selling now for about a week shy of 6 months, 2 weeks ago I got myself re-organized, started following up on leads past the first week, and finally started to feel comfortable with all the plans/carriers and how they work.

Before the most I had written in Health Plans was about $6,000 Annual Premium this week I've written $20,000 so far worth of clean apps this week and am going to keep it going into the weekend hopefully.

I quit once a week for a while too... then I realized I would have to get a real job if I did that and went back to work. This forum saved me a lot of money and had great advice which helped me invest my limited budget in the right areas to grow for marketing, norvax vs. quotit, leads to buy, companies to avoid, etc. thanks too everyone on here for that!
