I would like to ask the FE producers, how do you spread your business around in order to keep your contracts with several carriers? Thanks for your input.

Personally I don't put business with a company for that reason. No company is that important even though they all believe they are.

I was terminated by UHL earlier this year because I hadn't written anything with them in years. They did say that, if I submitted a piece of business in the next 30 days they would keep it active. Well hello!! There was a reason I wasn't placing business with them in the first place. Why would I place some with them just to keep a contract I didn't use?

The 125% contract I have with UHL is the highest commish contract I have but I have yet to put a piece of business with them. Just don't find a fit. Yesterday, I wrote an app with an 80% commission carrier simply because I could do better for the money than with any other I had.

It all depends on where the client can be placed. I had a Settlers and Illinois Mutual Contract that was terminated for lack of production last year, but guess what the contracts were reinstated because I finally had a DI case to place with Illinois Mutual and a client that requested Settlers. So if you don't have no business placed with them yet no worries. But it does suck once you do have a case to place because you have to redo the agent contract again :1frown:
