Just curious to see what the average Final expense agent pulls in the first year. I know it will be different state to state, agent to agent etc. Just looking to get a feel.

I saw there was a similar post in another section of the website but im looking to seclude this just to those selling FE
Thanks,

How long have you been at it?

in 2011 based on a challenge from Travis i went and worked just satudays for eight straight months and saved up 36K in eft commissions working just one full day a week... now keep in mind i wasn't going to work with less than five appointments on that day....

i cant imagine if i would have worked 2-3 days per week

About 10 years. I was 19 or 20 when I started selling final expense. It was hard in the beginning for me ... not too many 60 to 80 year olds want a teenager telling them what they should do.

After the first six months I just started telling them I was 30. I have been 30 for a decade! Maybe now that I actually am 30 I should start telling clients that I am 40 and see if it increases my numbers :)

I noticed you said after leads. What was your monthly lead budget during your first year?

To be honest I don't quite remember ... its been so long and my orders were pretty erratic when I first started.

Back then I was paying $18 per direct mail and $20 for TV leads. I think my 1099 that year was a little over $60k. So I probably paid 15k to 20k for leads in that first year. Leads were financed by the company so I definitely abused that 0% interest loan. :)
