How to Stay In Business

It is extremely disconcerting that people are confusing FSAs with HSAs, as they are very different animals.

Secondly, are there as yet regulations stating what the maximum co-insurance rate will be? That, imo, will determine the viability of the HSA concept. If you have a max $2k deductible, and then a max co-insurance (subscriber pay) of say 20%, then the HSA concept is done. If there is no max co-insurance, then you could conceivably have a $2k deductible, but say a co-insurance of 80% (subscriber pay), then the idea is pretty much intact.

I am looking at getting back into selling IT solutions as I see the Healthcare gig getting worse. IT sales jobs are not plentiful these days, but offer benefits, car allowance, and expenses. I will see where it goes.

We never did much in the major med market and I am glad we did not. I really feel for you guys over the next few years as you have to make changes. We have ran into many health guys wanting to get a head start on transferring to life and we do our best to help them.

Jim I know what you mean. For example, when I think of selling life insurance things that are more fun come to mind like cutting myself with razor blades and diving into a pool of rubbing alcohol.

Try setting the rubbing alcohol on fire first. It really adds to the experience.

I mean, you'll likely end up dead broke - unable to get pay a web designer for a good site and be left to resort to paying Godaddy $4/a month for low class stuff like this:

Home Page - because nothing screams "success" like a horrible template website.

Yes...if I'm an agent looking to become successful I'd absolutely want to sign up after look at that website.

And honestly, with no sarcasm, that site does indeed do more harm then good. Having agents wonder if you're broke is one thing. Proving it to them is another.

His site is the equivalent of driving up to a business meeting in a '79 Pinto talking about your big plans.
