How to Write a Nightclub.

I am a new agent still learning the biz. However a good friend of mine is starting a night club and I have been given the chance to throw my hat in the ring and give them a quote. I can write their business but I was possibly looking for some ideas of where to go or which form to use.

FL forms thinking a General Liab policy and a liquor end

Anybody know of any resources or articles that I can read about writing night clubs. Going to be a dance club with a stage setup as well for a band with multiple bars. What type of questions should I ask and hurdles should I be ready for.

Looking for things such as how much sq feet is the building? How much personal property do you own and need to insure? (speakers) (bar equipment). Do you sell food? Parking lot covered? How many floors? Workers comp?

I am looking for any information or resources that will show me what questions that I need to ask to write a decent policy.

Assault and battery coverage is also something to look for in coverage. This is a big issue for nightclubs.

Check out mynewmarkets.com and search for nightclub and your state. You will find some companies/MGAs that will be able to help you with the exact info you will need to get for this type of risk.

cooking exposure,
assault and battery
liquor liability

how many guest per night,
happy hours?
specials?
age group?
check id with scanner?
bouncer?
dancing?
equipment? live music?

Just ask one of your GA/Carriers to send you a supplemental, they all ask the same questions

First off it's going E&S so make sure you're up to speed w/ your responsibilities there. Are you setup with a wholesaler yet? You'll need to be. Then you'll need to ask for copies of pretty much every non ISO endorsement you see on the quote (assuming you have access to & are familiar with ISO forms.) You'll need to review those to ensure your buddy knows all the "fine print" up front.

Any claims resulting from firearms or weapons...or failing to check people for those things...will most likely be excluded as will claims resulting from dancing anywhere OTHER then the dance floor...serving jello shows....i meen the list goes on and on.

Sometimes you can negotiate that stuff. But zoom right to those endorsements.

And make sure you have a signed document clearly spelling out those pitfalls because not many people starting a new venture will actually put systems in place to control for these risks.....so it's an E&O waiting to happen.

There is ALOT to writing nightclubs!

It is good that you are buddies with the owner.

But you need very specific markets on this one, or at least hope that your buddy does not get in touch with a broker who has those very specific markets.

We write a ton of strip clubs/bars/etc.

I don't know what the size on it is but if you get in a bind give me a call or shoot me an email.
