Humana PDP Changes 2020

Which One?

From what I understand Envision is doing the same thing don't know if that is state-specific

Aetna is having issues, Because of wellcare

The silver script is no bargain anymore

What else is good for generic users

I haven't sold their Walmart plan for at least 2 years, Most of my plans are from 2 years out and beyond, have plenty of Aetna issues now though

I'll look at Wellcare.

I'll look at Wellcare.

You know,a few years ago, Maybe 2013 I think I contracted with WellCare due to the fact they had a low-cost MA plan's in Suffolk County NY, I figured for a good option for those who couldn't do Supp and didn't want to pay $50 for a BC MA plan,

I signed a few on to this plan the next year they discontinued that plan but opened a new plan exactly the same benefits except it was a 0% commission plan

I also signed a few FL clients to a part B giveback plan, Thier Cust service was atrocious, so I stopped selling them in 2014, I swore I would not sell them again

I sold a lot of Aetna PDP plans this last 2 or 3 years, Not only am I getting calls daily about Welcare taking over, since they took over the service in the last few months I had 2 apps not show up, I had to call and that is no easy process each time took over an hour to find out they were missing a page, ( I never had a page missing in all the Aetna PDP's I've done before)

It is what it is, I remember Coventry was amazing for a couple of years on PDP, less than $15 very low copays then one year what was it over $30 or over $40 on premium and tier-one went to $10

What are you going to do it is what it is

I am going to have to deal with a ton of Aetna PDP's as well because of WellCare.

I am telling you there is a part of me that is considering not doing PDP at all, still a small part of me at this point but the thought is there

Or just let sleeping dogs lie. What's everyone's threshold for making a plan recommendation. Like if the client is on 3 generics and had Humana Walmart in 2018 into 2019 would you have recommended the move to Aetna select for an annual savings of $300 or whatever?

I'm finding my threshold to recommend a switch is getting higher and higher each year due to the cf that this is becoming.

Why should Humana penalize people that have the original WalMart plan? You can switch them to the new one. I get that. But the BS to go thru for around $40. Why doesn't Humana offer them the option to switch with original writing agent receiving commissions? Maybe they will but I've received nothing on it.

All this screwing around with the PDP's is another reason MA's are getting more popular every year. The drug portion of the MAPD's seem to be a heck of a lot better than the stand alone PDP's now. $0 premium, $0 deductible and $0 generics on Tier 1 and Tier 2 drugs on some of these MA plans. I feel the MA plans have to have a good PDP attached or it would be a deal breaker for a lot of clients.

Same reason Welcare cancels on the plan and opens same plan noncommissionable

They don't care

Clients get a letter about plan mapping and to to call your agent or the 1-800 #, agents name is not on the letter. If they have not spoken to the agent prior who do they call.
I understand that if they call the 1-800 # and switch to another in house PDP you will retain AOR. Mr. Smith there is a plan that is $0 that has a PDP. The tele sales agent makes his $50 and gets laid off in March and guess who gets the renewals.

I am sure that our clients would never be contacted by the carrier as well, Mr. Smith I see you are confused by all of this. Lets me send an agent out to your home and explain this to you in person.

Letters and emails go out to all my clients. If they don’t contact me it’s not my fault. I’ll be ok if I lose the $3 renewal.
During my seminar and follow up F2F meeting I stress the importance of October 15 - December 7th.
