Humana PDP: No Longer Cover Glyburide

Had a client tell em they got a notice that Humana's pdp will not cover glyburide going forward. Dhould they file a request to have it be covered. Seems like a popular drug to stop offering. Anyone else hear this?

It is on list of high risk & has been for a number of years, since 2013

Just ran report on Mcare. All plans showing coverage for glyburide. Maybe Mcare hasn't gotten the word yet

Get a copy of the letter. If they are pulling coverage mid-year, they need a reason to change.

In any case, its a $10 RX.

Went up to 26 I think. Its not gonna break the bank, and I javent seen his mid year change letter.
Do you guys help your clients apply for prescription price exemptions/or to have it be covered?

I had a mb call me about this change in January. I googled and found that Glipizide (a drug in the same class) IS covered on the formulary, has a longer half life and is extended release. Mb was OK with that explanation. I spelled out the name of the alternative to give to her PCP.
