HumanaOne Drops a Bomb

MHPAEA may or may not apply to individual plans. Everything I have seen on that act indicates it seems to apply to groups of 50+. That act specifically may not apply, but Humana is of the opinion that the ban on annual and lifetime caps applies to DAMN coverage.
 
Some mini med marketers are saying plans that pay a fixed benefit, $500/day for hospital as an example, are exempt while those that pay a percentage of the bill will have to comply as early as next month.

I think this is wishful thinking on somebody's part.
 
Every carrier I have spoke with is in agreement that STM is not subject to MLR. Plenty of indemnity "min meds" will dance the health bill as well.
 
Well...they've found a way to handle it in Iowa. I received a letter this week stating they're pulling out the 23rd.
