Husband & Wife "Tag Team"

So most times a marital couple will be easy to work with but often times when setting appointments I have encountered:

  • Call me back, I don't know my wife's/husband's schedule
  • Let me ask my husband/wife, then get back to you
  • I wasn't aware my spouse requested the info
  • Oh my spouse requested it? Call her/him
  • Etc.

In my mind I'm thinking 'how you not know your spouses schedule' and 'you didn't need your spouses permission to request this information' .... but realistically I can't say that out loud.

How do you find the balance between overcoming an objection (if this is the real objection) vs not being too disrespectful of the marital relationship dynamic / boundaries?

Women are the primary influencers in 90% of the cases. You either recognize that, or you fail trying to disprove it.

^ Interesting. Some of these guys run their households like drill sergeants

I door knock prospect I had one guy like 'oh I didn't know my wife requested this....Im gonna have a talk with her and ask her why she didn't tell me about this"....

I tried to change the topic and focus on setting an appointment and he's like "let me check with my wife"....In my mind I'm like "bruh! HER handwriting is on this paper, you don't need to check with her - just give a date/time you both will be home" BUT of course I can't say this out loud.

Not quite sure if the real objection was he thought the quote would be expensive or what

One appointment I had the guy (after rescheduling) finally agreed to meet but literally did not let his wife talk at all during the meeting.

I firmly stand my statement above... men bark ...women buy.

I'll never forget one time the husband invited me in (door knock)

And the wife was like "wtf! I said I just wanted to relax today. I don't want any visitors!"

He was like "Come on in!" completely disregarding the wife.

Eventually he said "we are setting a time for leadingagent to come back this weekend" and she chilled out.

Most times Ive encountered the husband acting like a drill sergeant-like gatekeeper/firing off hella objections while the wife is saying "come on in!"

My dad always said, "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world."
