I took my Indiana Life/Health license and passed! I needed 67% and got 74% which was shocking. I had a lot of doubt even passing! Yes, they give you percentage in Indiana either way compared to some states. Start training first week of April.

thanks. I know the phone calling is going to be my biggest challenge. But, if was easy everyone would be doing it and everyone would be successful. I have a good training system and formula in place, so I just have to be consistent.

Congratulations, feels good doesn't it? Wht is your good training system that you have in place. Are you captive?

You are on the right track! I have a question for people out there: If you are taking on a producer and you aren't completely sure about them, would you consider having them pay for their own licensing class and test?

I would look at that as a commitment piece. If you are offering them a good opportunity, and they are worth it, they'll find the money. Any good salesperson has an ability to come up with it somewhere and that will tell you they are in this not just "testing the waters".
The only people I've ever even helped out I split the cost with, they paid for the class I paid for the test, and these were people I'd worked with in a different sales world that I knew can sell!

Don't discount someone because they can't come up with the money to cover licensing. I know of many many good people who are on financial hardships at the moment. Many of them would love to find a way to earn extra income. If you have a producer who you feel could help you, help him out as well. I'm not saying pay for all of it but you should have an idea if he will work hard before he even takes the test.

Well, yes and no... I agree, they should come up with it and if they really want it, they will. The problem is, when I was captive and would interview to hire people, I would get someone who I felt would be a great fit and very successful that would just fizzle out... And I'd get folks who I was a bit skeptical about at first and they would just take off! You almost never know...I have helped a couple agents in the past. Some turned out great but others, not so much.The fact is, almost none of us just picked this up and ran with it without someone or something showing or guiding us through. Whether that be through training, product knowledge or even financially, we've all been helped by others - even through this forum. At the end of the day, if you see that potential in someone, take the risk and roll the dice. You might just change someones life... Mine has definitely been changed.Anyhow "itworks," congrats again. Your training and system will be important, but it's the focus that will make you great. Don't settle, ever. There's no such thing as too much in this! Bless.
