ICEP vs IEP

You only get 60 days after a part b reinstatement. There is only one icep, you don't get a second one after reinstatement of part b.
If you're going by what Google says you're right. But I don't need Google.

Go back and look at what the OP said in post #5. He said there was a NEW Part B start date. That's all I need to know.

When a client gets a new Part B start date, that tells me that I can use a loophole in Medicare that I've never seen on Google. I can get my client a supplement without health questions or an MA plan without a SEP.

I love the word loophole . Just like 98% of agents use the "loophole" dst when they dam well know the applicant's enrollment wasn't affected by any storm .

Not really trying to argue, nor going by google. I didn't know if you knew something else.

I had a client last year that had reinstated part B, and she thought that she had 90 days to pick a plan. We submitted the plan at the 61 day mark, and it was declined. Next we used the dst and got it issued.

Actually I just had a conversation about that with a Humana agent who weekly trolls for clients in the food bank waiting line (I volunteer at the food bank - she doesn't know I am an agent, I'm not allowed to bring up what I do when I volunteer per their rules so don't, but there isn't time either based on what I do). I said something like, I guess we won't be seeing you next week and she said no she'd be back - the storm blah blah blah- um around here what storm? It hit all around us with some damage but not here. 🤣

I think last year is different from this year. I just did a humana application for someone that had delayed part B. It said, ICEP if you delayed B and within 3 months of starting it. But, your situation is different that they were reinstated. Not sure how they would know it.

.I just got contracted in fla to write some people over the phone . Hell if i lived there I'd write 100 a month . I wrote humana giveback H5216-393 . $174.70 giveback and no deductible on Rx and $30 copay on tier 3. That's insane . More upheaval coming in 2026. Let's see if Fla plans finally get hit like the rest of the country

Caveat, not an agent.

2 months vs 3 months.

There is a one month distinction between:

Initial Enrollment Period (New to Medicare)

and

Initial Enrollment Period (New to Part B)

This matches @bill3173 's experience expressed above.

Humana's website carefully talks only about the start of ICEP, it does not say when it ends:

Your ICEP begins three months before you become eligible for Medicare Part A and Part B. If you have what's called "creditable coverage," you may be able to put off signing up and paying for Medicare Part B with no late-enrollment penalty.

Florida plans already got "hit". I mean, the plan options now are pretty close to what we had pre-Covid.
Yes, that humana ppo is very popular.
